New: Art Journaling, Teen Group- monthly online group.
About: A place to explore thoughts and feelings, and make sense of the experiences and changes through this time. Under Jacqui’s guidance the group will be using a variety of creative processes alongside stories and open discussions (if appropriate) as tools to reach new understanding of these experiences.
As this is delivered online, it is expected that you have some basic art equipment (pencils, pens, textas, glue stick, and paper which does not have to be a visual diary). More information can be found here.
Next date: Monday 26th October 2020 (to meet the last Monday of each month). Location: Zoom (link provided on receipt of payment.) Time: 7-8.30pm Cost: $35 Register here.
Creative art journaling or visual journaling can be a powerful tool in self expression and self discovery. Journaling requires no previous art experience as its value is in the process of opening a creative mind rather than creating good art. Journaling can be used to help make sense of what is happening around us and how we feel about this; to give voice to something we feel cannot be spoken; to gain insight into an aspect about ourselves we may not have considered before, and to release any anger, pain or anguish, and a way to carry ourselves from one place to another.
Jacqui provides a unique approach to creative art journaling which combines Art Therapy techniques along with aspects of Narrative Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Sessions can be helpful for adolescents and adults (including mothers and carers), for a wide range of situations including: Stress Anxiety Depression Creative blocks Grief & Loss Life direction Relationships Eating Disorders Post and Ante Natal Depression and anxiety Trauma Self Esteem issues
WHAT TO EXPECT IN A SESSION: Initial session (1.5hr recommended) - In an initial session, clients will be introduced to how to begin a creative journal and prepare pages, using a variety of art materials. Together we consider how to use your journal as a space that may be used to carry you from one place to another, along with techniques that will support you creating your own voice through your journal pages. Subsequent sessions - These sessions will not only provide ideas as to how journaling may find its way into your everyday life and emotional fitness, they will be tailored to accommodate a client's specific therapeutic needs and situations.
INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS: 1hr and 1.5 hr sessions are available. Fees on enquiry. Session are available in Greensborough or via Zoom. Available for Outreach or Home Visits. All materials included.
